Phono equalization

Work-in-progress: This page is not finished yet. We’re working hard to add more information.

Phono equalization can be done in very different ways.

Passive RC

This type of equalization is often found in tube phono amplifiers between two active stages. It is also widely used in transistor based equalization without negative feedback.

Active/passive RC

Active/passive equalization is a combination of a passive stage (usually the 2120Hz low pass) and filter in the feedback loop of a opamp. This circuit is widely used in two-stage opamp based circuits.
